The Grouch that found Christmas.

It was another successful production from the youth group this year. They preformed The Grouch that found Christmas. A story of how our attitudes can change the attitudes of others around us. But when God opens our eyes we see that our situation is not as bad as someone else's. The play was preformed two times on Sunday December 16th, 2005. Once for Harper's congregation and a second time for Big Springs' congregation. The youth are selling a two DVD box set of both performances for a donation of $10.00. All the money goes to the youth group fund.

Kids for Christ

Our youth group, Kids for Christ, as they like to be called, range in ages 2 to 13 (older youth are welcome). We meet every 1st, 2nd, and 4th Sunday evenings at 5:30pm (every 3rd Sunday is Family Night). we start the evening off with 20 minutes of Praise and Worship, listening to modern christian music. The kids then split into different age groups for classes. At 6:30 the kids break for Dinner and free time. Yes that is right, dinner! We do feed our kids. They have a free dinner every time, the menu is different every week. The parents that don't stay to help are asked to pick their kids up by 7:30 pm.

Vacation is over Sunday January 8th, 2006 started up the youth group up for the new year! We started off with "devotion in motion". The kids really enjoyed that part. We then went to our lessons. Then we had "Make your own subs" for dinner. Don't forget to invite a friend to the next youth group.

Carpet Ball We now have a Carpet Ball table for the Youth Group and others to play. It is the favorite game to play during free time at youth group on Sundays.

Melissa Rose has the high score of 28 straight wins. She was only playing the 9 year olds and under. TJ Rose her son says he will take the title from her!!

Christmas Parade This was the second year our youth has had a float in the Bellefontaine Christmas parade. It was a cold morning, but they made it. We had no incidences this year. Ken was not allowed near the front of the horse drawn wagon. A special thanks goes out to Dave and Yvonne Overfield for providing the horses.

Caroling The youth had a good time caroling. They went and caroled many people at their homes in Bellefontaine, Rushylvania, and Harper. They also visited Heartland and other retirement homes. They also learned how to not park a truck in the snow. Thanks Sharon for that demo!! Everyone then went back to the Church for a soup and chili dinner. Thanks to Deb Moody for the delicious food.

Flamingoing Flamingoing is a fun activity the older youth enjoy. If you have a friend or neighbor who needs some yard decorating now that their christmas junk decorations are down, and 20 pink flamingos would look nice, let Melissa Rose know. Don't forget the donation (for the flamingoing or the bribe to stay off the list).

Skating Party We just had our skating party at the Indian Lake Roller Rink. Fun was had by all, young and old alike. There were some bruised egos and a quick look around to see who was looking when a few fell down ...I mean showing the KIDS how to fall down safely!! I found some videos of the skating party. Here is a link to someone falling down.. I mean to the safety demonstration!
