Mozambique InitiativeHarper Chapel has a Covenant Partnership with the Bahule United Methodist Church in Mozambique.
Bahule is in the Gaza District of the Mozambique South Conference.
We have learned that the Rev. Benedita Matsimbe will be the new pastor at Bahule beginning
February 1, 2012.
Rev. Matsimbe was appointed during the December annual conference where the Mozambique
Bishop Nhanala and other officers affirmed that the United Methodist churches there and
becoming self-sufficient, raising awareness of good stewardship and competent leadership committed to Christ.
The Bishop urged the Annual Conference members to be spiritually renewed, to be faithful and committed to Christ,
to be financially accountable and transparent as well as being self-sufficient.
To aid in this process, Harper Chapel's covenant is $900 per year for the church, $90 per year for the
support of the coordinator, Carol Kreamer, and with additional support for Carol if funds are available.
To write a letter of encouragement to Rev. Matsimbe, e-mail it to Ezequiel Nhantumbo, our interpreter
